The Great Outdoors

I am most passionate about travelling with my beautiful wife Shana Patten.  Recently we traveled to California.  We visited the Monterey coast and Yosemite.  The sights were amazing! The sights that I saw in California remind me of the beautiful sights here in Chattanooga TN. These sights are only twenty minutes away or less! I love to hike the local trails any chance I get. The Rainbow Falls trail on Signal Mtn is a favorite of mine that I visit frequently.   South Cumberland State Park on Monteagle Mountain has magnificent trails. I take these hikes with my sister, and her knowledge of nature make the trails literally come to life. I have one of the prettiest pieces of property listed on the "Mowbray Mountain" portion on Walden's Ridge. It is 44 acres that joins the Cumberland Trail Park. I love to visit and show it. There are lots of interesting websites about these local parks and conservation efforts. Go to www.trgt.org it is one of my favorite sites about the Tennessee River Gorge. This site has a wonderful slide show about the gorge on YouTube called the “Tennessee River Gorge Anniversary.”  Video Link

20 minutes to everything outdoors!   Greenway Farms great trails for running, walking, and hiking.   Greenway also has put in for kayaks and canoes.  Also great hiking opportunities…..  try The Chickamauga Battlefield, Cloudland Canyon, or Reflection Riding.  For more information on the great outdoors of Chattanooga and the surrounding areas go to http://www.outdoorchattanooga.com/#.   This site has directions, tons of activities, and even difficulty levels.  Check it out and get outdoors!

Chattanooga Entertainment

Exciting things to do around the city….  Chattanooga has a beautiful Bluff View Art District.  It is a must see!  Just a couple high points on High St…. Make sure to check out the local coffee shop called Rembrandt’s Coffee House.  Great coffee, awesome food, and the pastries are to die for.   Also walk through the sculpture garden and if you are still feeling artzy fartzy visit the Hunter Art Museum.  From there you can take a stroll over the Walnut St Bridge.   It is one of the largest pedestrian bridges in the country.  Once you have made it that far do some window shopping on the North Shore.  We also have a all organic grocery called Greenlife.   The Greenlife grocery has lots of yummy options.  Many local organic farmers supply product to the Greenlife grocery.  After an afternoon of shopping and coffee, you might be ready for some fine dining.   Head back over the river and try the Meeting Place or St. John’s on the Southside.   That is just some of the fun and exciting happenings in our gorgeous scenic city.   Updates of entertaining opportunities will be posted regularly so come back and keep on reading!
